The weekend before Thanksgiving, our house was transformed for a birthday party! Our "baby boy" turned 3 on November 27th. Since we were going to be in Texas for the holiday, we celebrated a week early at home. We gave Jobi the choice between "Seuss book" or "Buzz and Woody 3" themed party. You see which was the winner :) Jobi LOVES Dr Seuss and is really into the books, movies, etc right now. We have to read one of the books every night before bed :) Santa Claus just brought him FOUR new ones (including the Grinch, of course) He knows the words by heart - he even reads them to US! which is a really great treat. It really was such a fun theme for a party. I think everyone had a great time. We were very blessed to have all our family spend this special time with us.
I have a lot of pictures... and they may not be in complete progression order, but you'll get the gist. I had to share so many b/c they were all so fun!! I managed to get a few with our camera, but these mostly come courtesy of our friend "Aunt" Bef :) (Thanks Bef!! And thanks to our friend, Judith, for help with the decorating ideas!)
Jobi was so funny to watch and kept everyone highly entertained! The kiddo cousins had a blast playing outside together, opening gifts, and playing with all of them! The biggest hit of the day... the MICROPHONE (thanks to Aunt Sissy and her clan). Jobi is destined to be a STAR! ;-)
At 3, Jobi has really begun to assert his independence. He wants to do everything "myself!" I love how he is such the little intellectual and reasons with us... he says "that kinda works!" and "... "I think??" :) You can tell when he has so many thoughts in his head and things he wants to say that he has trouble getting it all to come out of his mouth! haha He loves watching movies, reading his books, playing outside, fruit snacks, "hice crem" (aka ice cream - vanilla, his favorite - although it comes out "banana"), and skittles.... singing, playing on his new "'puter" and drawing/coloring, and has a new found love for "hide and go seek" :) Still loves to play baseball and watch football, pizza, and spaghetti-os. He gets powdered donuts when he has no time-outs at school. He decides now what clothes he wants (or does NOT want) to wear. He is VERY opinionated, says "please," "thank you," "bless you!" and "excuse me" - most of the time without having to be reminded - even "yes ma'am/sir" and "no ma'am/sir"). He loves going to school to play with the "guys" and loves to go to church to see his church friends. He will tell us "God made our bodies" and that "Jesus loves me!" He's in nothing but big boy pull-ups and we're still working on going potty (bribing with Toy Story 3 big boy underwear) and NOT sucking his thumb! *sigh* haha We'll get there in time. His smile, excitement in his facial expressions and words, big bear hugs, "knucks" :) and "sugars" are the highlights of our day. He is the light of my life! Every moment, every milestone is so precious and ones we make sure not to take for granted. He's growing up and getting so big so fast! But he'll always be Daddy's little man and Mommy's baby boy :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOBI!! We love you soooooooo much, kiddo!!
He was SO very serious about this candle-blowing thing! haha
LOVED that we captured these beautiful faces :)
He would very intently "read" every card and show off every present!!
And still going strong... all night long!! haha
THANKS everyone for a wonderful party!! We love you :)
