Rough Weekend and Tubes Day

Well everyone, just a quick post to ask for your thoughts and prayers as Jobi gets his tubes in his ears tomorrow morning. We don't know yet exactly what time we'll have the procedure but last they told us was probably 6:30 a.m. which is fine by us considering he can't eat or drink anything after midnight. I know things will go well and hopefully this will take care of our chronic ear infections!!

Just an update... we've had actually more problems going on this past weekend. Friday, Jobi woke up at 4 a.m. throwing up so obviously, he stayed home from daycare with Nana and Papa. He was doing OK until later that night I came home from Christmas program practice and Chris told me he had been very restless and had started itching. He was literally clawing himself to death, poor baby!!! He raised up from his restless slumber and we discovered that his face, neck, and hands were swollen and eyes had swollen shut! As we were hurriedly packing to head to the ER, he began projectile vomiting - I was SCARED OUT OF MY MIND! We didn't even put him in the car seat, I held him all the way to the hospital. He had been on antibiotic for his ear infections - this was the second time he had taken this particular medicine and we were on the NINTH day of the 10 days of it when the ER doc decides it has to be an allergic reaction he's had to it. Apparently, now after talking to several medical personnel, it will take anywhere from 7-10 days for a reaction to occur. So there we are..... "allergy to Penicillin." They gave him a shot of Epinephrine and he screamed and screamed for 1/2 hour or so until he finally fell asleep. WHEW. They put him on steroids for 5 days and told us to follow up with our Pediatrician which we did the very next a.m. Dr. Burks said since he was running fever along with the vomiting, he would guess it was also a viral infection, not just the allergic reaction alone. But he has to document the "penicillin allergy"just in case - for future alerts.

Early Sunday morning, Chris wakes up throwing up.... of course. Just our luck! Nothing worse than trying to play single parent or dealing with a sick baby AND sick spouse! Especially during the busy holiday season...

Now finally after four days of illness, everyone seems to be on the "up and up." Thank you LORD! We are experiencing some tummy issues with Jobi due to the steroids, but thank goodness we have only one more day of that then hopefully we can stay well for a while and enjoy a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :)

I thank everyone in advance for their prayers tomorrow - we'll give an update soon!

"I'm Dreaming of a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!"

To quote one of the songs of my FAVORITE claymation Christmas program :) "It's gonna snow... right here in DIXIE!!!"

This is the MOST precious picture ever!

OK, maybe he had had enough of the snow by this point! haha

A view of the drive on my way to work!!!! (yes, I still had to work - but we're getting to go home early!) It was SO beautiful!

Waiting to be Rescued

OK, so a few times over the past several weeks, we've had to jump our car off to get started (I'm guessing battery/cold weather... who knows). Yesterday when I got Jobes loaded up in the car and ready to leave for work, of course, the car wouldn't start - so we waited for our neighborly neighbor Eric to come rescue us. :) I had to take a picture.... Jobi was so cute patiently waiting (well, for a little while anyway!)

You will notice "Moe" the monkey is patiently waiting as well, and so had time to pose for a quick photo.

Just Playing Around Before Church

Playing in the sink a little bit...

Just some silly pics :)

Jobi LOVES his new step stool we got from Mustard Seed!! Mommy and Daddy love it too - it's so awesome! Something that is sure to be a keepsake he'll treasure and pass down!

Guess we should get to church now! All ready to go!

Jobi's Very Own Tree

I wanted to get a small Christmas tree for Jobi's room and Chris found a great deal on a little 4-ft pre-lit one. It is decorated with little plastic snowflakes, holly, candy canes, and all kinds of fun stuff! When we first plugged it in, it was so funny - Jobi was terrified of it! We couldn't help but laugh and secretly hoped he would slowly begin to get used to it being in the nursery. Hey, at least he has his tree up and decorated... we JUST got our tree in last night and who knows when it'll get decorated!!

Here are some "progression" pics of the Christmas tree experience... wonder how Jobes would react if he knew he were placed UNDER the tree last year! haha

Warming up to it a little...

One day he'll learn to LOVE EVERYTHING Christmas just like his Mommy!! :)

"Big Blue" in the spotlight...

When Daddy plays around with the camera, sometimes he makes some pretty awesome pics :)

In Case There Was Any Question....

And the GREEN around his mouth is the evidence to prove it - thanks Lynn!!! :) hehe

A New Perspective on Things

Last Wednesday was a busy day - Jobi had SANTA pics at school followed by his 12- month checkup and shots (yuk). Well, we got some cute pics of Jobes with the Christmassy set, however, he would have NOTHING to do with Ol' Saint Nick! Oh well... maybe next year. :) Then it was off to the doc. Jobi was such a big boy getting his shots and Dr. Burks said everything looks great - even though he's just a little small, he's still growing up the charts at his own little pace. He weighed 19 lbs, 1 oz - we were hoping for 20 so we could turn his car seat around. But Dr. Burks said we could "fudge" a little bit anyway and go ahead with it!! So off to Jackson last Saturday we went with our friend "Aunt Bef" to Mustard Seed Holiday Open House with Jobes facing FORWARD!!! He absolutely loved it! The seat looks like it kinda swallows him but it's all good (haha) I know he'll grow into it fast enough and to be honest, God knows I'm in no hurry for that to happen :)

Here are some pics of our big boy!

"Whoa!! Look at me!!!"

All worn out from the long road trip!

Kissing Cousins!

We were so excited that my cousin Lisa, her hubby Justin, and baby girl Addyson - along with my Aunt Linda and Uncle Pat from TX came to visit over Thanksgiving. The guys went hunting Friday and then we all got together that night to hang out for some good ol' BBQ and Wii! haha

OK, so no Wii for Uncle Pat - all that deer hunting wore him out!

Lisa and Jobes

Addy was SO cute playing with Jobi and all of his toys. I think they had a lot of fun together! We were getting the babies to give each other sugar and well.... Jobes got a little aggressive! haha It was too funny, we were cracking up. Here are the pics to show just how much Jobes LOVES his cousin Addy!

Aren't they the sweetest??

Momma's gonna have to keep an eye on this kissy boy!!
P.S. We missed you Kim and Fleet - next time we hope to have both of you and sweet Little Logan with us too!! Another generation of the "Troublesome Trio!" Oh my!!! :) haha
