Labor Day Weekend - Myrtle Beach

Labor Day weekend, Chris and I made plans to travel to Myrtle Beach, SC (actually Pawley's Island) to attend one of his good friend's wedding. We decided to leave Jobes at home this trip, since it was just over a long weekend, with Mumsie and Pop. We knew he'd have more fun with them than going with us! They had tons of fun things planned to keep him busy - including playing in the sprinkler, going to Shipley's with Pop, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, and swimming at Uncle Dutch and Aunt Alicia's! I'll have to get some pics from Mumsie to post of Jobi's adventures. Meanwhile, I'll share with you some from mine and Daddy's time together :)

We began our trip by driving to Atlanta Thursday to spend the night with my cousin, Lisa and her family. We enjoyed spending time with her and Justin and the girls. Also, cousin Kim and Fleet, Logan, and Baby Fleet came over too! I hated Jobes wasn't there to play with the cousins - we love to get them together whenever is possible. Oh well, next time. Did I mention that it also happened to be THE opening night of college football and that our Southern Miss Golden Eagles were playing South Carolina on ESPN??!! There was no way we were going to miss that, so everyone was "forced" to watch the game :D As most of you are aware... that went downhill fast. UGH. Thankfully, we had the girls to keep us entertained!

Early Friday morning, we drove on to Pawley's Island. It seemed we would never get there and we were a little concerned about making it in time for the beginning of the wedding festivities! We made it though, and it was well worth the long drive - just look at this view!

This is where David and Linda were married - Litchfield Plantation, Pawley's Island, SC. The oldest rice plantation in the state. Reminded us all of Forrest Gump! haha GORGEOUS. Such a fun time celebrating with old friends!

We were unsure whether or not we were going to come home Sunday or spend the night somewhere and come home Monday since it was Labor Day and we were both off. Chris decided we'd just drive all the way back on Sunday (with a quick stop over in Atlanta for IKEA! of course) so we'd have all day Monday to play and recuperate. So Monday we joined our friends on the "Redneck Riviera!" (that would be the creek for those of you who didn't know) :) I must say (now that it's PAST and I won't jinx it!) that this was Jobi's best creek trip so far! He had the BEST time and no injuries! haha He wore himself out after a full, fun day. What a great long weekend it was for everybody!
