Fall Civitan Camp 2009

This is an inaugural year for putting on Civitan Camp in the FALL! Chris and the other directors decided to try it out with limited campers and staff and it was a huge success. Several campers were able to attend this Fall who are normally not able to attend in the summer due to the heat, health limitations, etc. There were ladies and men who were able to come who have not attended in YEARS so it was a wonderful experience for them, their parents/caretakers, AND the staff who worked! Jobi and I were able to go down on Saturday and spend some time. It was a lot of fun and it's on again for next year!!

Chris and Buddy Lea - one of Mrs. Abbie's (Camp Founder) very FIRST campers! Camp begun in 1961! Everyone loves Buddy!! :)

This is Eddie and he is one of my FAVORITES!!! He walks around camp with a 2-liter coke bottle and fills it up with twigs, rocks, leaves, etc. When he's filled one to the top, he throws it away and begins again! His smile is contagious and he has the sweetest spirit! :)

I'm sure that Daddy had something to do with Jobi sitting on a potty chair, posing for a picture!

Jobi loved riding with PawPaw Dale on his scooter!

Playing around on the merry-go-round... I LOVE these pictures :)

Jobi took his first boat ride at Fall Camp! He LOVED it. Would've been even better had it not been a rainy and cold day, but it was fun anyway! I wasn't sure how he would handle putting that big life jacket on and keeping it on, but he did great! He even got to drive the boat and he especially loved honking the horn and waving to Daddy across the water!
I've said before and will say again and again - we are so proud of Daddy and our friends who make ARCC such a success and the difference they make for the benefit of our community, these campers, and their families! Every year brings new joys and memories :)
